We Love French Knots

Hi all. Now that International Quilt Market is over, I'm attempting to get back on track with blogging again. One of the things that I missed telling you about was that in September Penguin & Fish was interviewed on the We Love French Knots blog run by the lovely Bari J! I designed a free pattern download of a little squirrel for the blog as well. The squirrels are going CRAZY outside right now prepping for the winter so I thought it was an appropriate time to share this little pattern again. Here is a link to We Love French Knots, please check it out! And here is a link to download the free squirrel embroidery pattern.

My bunny is in Small Magazine!

I'm a couple of days late with this post, but I'm still super excited. My bunny muff was photographed for small magazine! Small has the BEST photography of kid's fashion and it's worth a look if you haven't checked it out. I'm so happy my little plush friend could be a part of it.

I'm in the Storque!

Check it out peeps. I was in an Etsy Storque article a couple of days ago! The lovely Linzee McCray wrote the piece about Textile Trends at the International Quilt Market. And one of those trends was embroidery, woo hoo! I got to chat with her about my embroidery kits and she took a pic of me with my big hedgehog pillow. You can read the entire article here.

Blog: We Say Meow

A couple of weeks ago, the lovely Mary Kilvert asked me to be a part of her and Anke Weckmann's new blog "We Say Meow". I immediately said YES and it's quickly become one of my new favorite blogs. It's all about cats, the artists who own them, and the art they make featuring felines. Tee hee, can't beat that! Check out the blog here. The art above was created by (in order from top to bottom) Matte Stephens, Gemma Correll, Lisa Evans, Anna Wadham, and Leila Shetty.

My little horsey in it's home

This was so darling that I just had to post it. I recently did a trade of one of my horses for this wonderful bunny and bunny pattern from Barbara of fuzzymitten. She just posted this video of her little one with the horse as a thank you. Too cute! I love it.

I'm a Curator! Tinlark Gallery's INSPIRED show opens on Saturday.

Tinlark Gallery in L.A. has a show opening on Saturday to celebrate their 2nd anniversary. The show is called INSPIRED and it features art curated by 7 bloggers, and I'm one of them! Woo hoo! The other bloggers are Grace of Design*Sponge, Joanna of A Cup of Jo, Erin of Design for Mankind, Abbey of Aesthetic Outburst, Meighan of My Love for You is a Stampede of Horses, and Holly of decor8. How I got wrapped up with that amazing bunch of people is beyond me.

The two artists I chose for the show are Amy Huddleston and Ivy Jacobsen. I'm pretty much obsessed with both of them. Examples of Amy's paintings are above in the first two paintings and Ivy's are the third and fourth. Other artists in the show are Anne M. Hall, Bailey Saliwanchik, Betsy Walton, Henrike Stahl, Kime Buzzelli, Marcie Paper, Marta Rich, Mike Perry, Natalia Czajkiewicz, Rachel Papo, Souther Salazar, Tanya Aguiñiga and Yu-i Chan.

The show runs through Feb 21. But if you're in L.A. on Saturday evening please please please head over to Tinlark and check out the show. And take tons of pics to show me because I'll be stuck here in Minneapolis. Get more info about the show on the Tinlark Gallery website.

On Indie Fixx, and a sketchbook

I'm featuring some items in the Indie Fixx Galleria this holiday season and they featured my little pink Alphabet Bear on their blog yesterday. They also showed several pics from my studio. So if you'd like to take a peak into my workspace, you can see pics here. Lastly, I wanted to share a new little product that I'm playing around with. If you've purchased a Kitty from me, you know that I draw a little kitty image on my packaging. Well, I had a stack of sketchbooks laying around so I thought I'd make these little Kitty Sketchbooks based on those drawings. So here are the first two, gold kitty and blue kitty. They are hand-embroidered and then permanently glued onto the sketchbook. I'm excited about them and can't wait to make more.
