Artist: hand over fist

I'm just loving this lion/tiger bandanna. I would have played with this like crazy if I had this when I was little. Check out this and a bear/bunny bandanna on the hand over fist etsy store. You'll also find your Obama fix there.

New Owl Embroidery Pattern

Finished another embroidery pattern this weekend. Yay! An Owl for the letter "O". The last pic is a peak at the back for fun. I'm trying to make it through all the vowels right now. I just have the letter "I" left and I think I'm going to do an inchworm for it. It was between that and an Iguana. But I used an Alligator for "A" already and I think an iguana might be a little too close to that. Especially if someone wanted to embroider just all the vowels together. And I think and inchworm feels like a good "baby" icon. There, this is me trying to convince myself to do the inchworm.
...have a happy Monday people!

Kitty week loot

I unpacked all my stuff from Kitty week today. I got a lot of Kitties, Horses, and Unicorns finished, but I have a whole box of them left to stuff (top pic). Sheesh! It was definitely a success though, and now I know that if I managed to get a decent sized order, I (with some help) would be able to fulfill it. So that takes some pressure off my brain. The last pic was taken while I was still in Wisconsin. My mom was on one side of the table cutting out pieces and I was on the other side stitching on faces. In the second pic the bin on top are the Kitties that I have done already and are in the store; the second bin holds the guys that are completely finished from Kitty week and I just have to photograph them; and the bottom bin holds all my scraps. If anyone has any ideas of what I could make from all these scraps, I'd love to know. I made a little Kitty broach out of them, but not sure if I'm satisfied with it yet. I'll have to experiment some more I guess.

Check them out here in my store. Let me know what you think, I'd love any feedback. I'll show some more pics from last week tomorrow.

Grandpa's 80th Bday

Well, besides "Kitty making week", the other reason I'm back home in Wisconsin is because my grandpa turned 80 over the weekend! All of his family and friends got together for a big surprise birthday party which was super fun. I got to see a lot of awesome cousins that I hadn't seen in a really long time.
Over the winter Grandpa went fishing in Cabo San Lucas and caught a HUGE marlin and he got it mounted for his wall. So for his birthday gift I made him a big fleece marlin pillow. Now his big marlin can have a little marlin friend.

Pile of Kitties

Here's another pile of Kitties from Kitty making week. I'm exhausted from all the sewing, but really happy too. Making Kitties is so much fun! I'll be making more over the weekend before heading home to Minneapolis. Hope all of you have a great weekend!

Kitty making week

It's Kitty making week. Yay! I'm spending the week at my parent's house in Wisconsin. My mom and I have become a Kitty factory. So far it's been really fun and hasn't become completely overwhelming yet. It's definitely nice to have a helper. And I get to see my real kitty, Sammy! And he actually was lying still long enough for a photo.
