Artist: Brian and Sara Turner of Cricket Press

When I saw the screen print of the little girl with her horse collection today I beamed! The print by Brian and Sara Turner of Cricket Press is one of the loveliest prints I've seen in a while. I just adore the color palette. And the other hand made screen prints by Cricket Press don't disappoint either. To see more work check out their website and etsy store. Also be sure to read their Etsy "featured seller" interview.

Artist: Colin's Creatures

Gah! These are so darling! These sculptures by Colin's Creatures are made out of porcelain, cast stone and wool. How cute would that last guy be sitting by my computer? VERY! See more in the Colin's Creatures Etsy store.

Artist: Lilla Jizo

When I was little I would walk around outside for hours looking for the perfect rock to paint into an animal. It had to be just right and when I found it I knew it just had to be an owl or a squirrel. Because of that, I feel like I have a real connection to these pieces by Lilla Jizo. They are made out of Scottish pottery that was washed up by the ocean and then made into these lovely pieces of art with acrylic and charcoal. Of course I love the kitty, but that little girl with the flower is calling me too. To find out more about these works and how they were created check out the Lilla Jizo blog and Etsy store. And next time I visit my parents I'll see if I can find some of the rocks I painted when I was little to share with all y'all.

Artist: Moonika of Kuutydruk

I think these linen bags and cases are just so cool. Most of them are based on traditional Estonian folklore patterns. I especially like the last pic of the linen bag with the simple pattern on it. All of these lovely works are by Moonika from Kuutydruk. See more of her work and process on her blog, flickr and Etsy shop.

Minneapolis Institute of Arts: Foot in the Door 4

The Minneapolis Institute of Arts is now taking submissions for the 4th "Foot in the Door" show. Foot in the Door 4 is an open exhibition for all Minnesota artists, which takes place only once every ten years! I figured how often to you get to show a piece of work in a major art museum, so sheesh, why not show something. All submissions must fit within a 12"x12"x12" space. I'm going to put in my weird fuzzy Kitty (Kitty no.181). The bottom pic is the long line of people submitting their items yesterday, craziness! All you Minnesotans should get something together to put in the show too! Then, let me know what you put in and I'll try to find it and take a pic.

I love Tabitha Emma's work. So painterly and beautiful. I especially like the big owl on the tea cup. See more work on the Tabitha Emma etsy store, flickr, blog and website.

Alphabet DONE!!!

I am finally finished making animal embroidery patterns for the entire alphabet. Phew! I feel like I need a nap, but I'm so excited! Click on the second pic to see all of the animals a little bigger. The other pics are some of the most recent animals that I didn't get a chance to share yet. I'd love to hear what you think. I'm hoping to turn a few of these guys into embroidery kits soon. I'm also going to make a set of matching print patterns for fabric. I want to make a quilt featuring my pattern designs and finished embroideries. Spoonflower, here I come! You can check out the embroidery listing in my Etsy store here.
